Q: What about weigh ins?
A: We are not encouraging weight cuts. Our weight checks will serve two purposes. To make sure that any weight discrepancies between competitors are reasonable, and to check that weight is within a reasonable range of initial disclosed weight.
Q: What happens if weight is way off?
A: If we feel the agreed weight division and check-in weight are unreasonably far apart, we reserve the right to move the competitor to another division. *** We consider reasonable weight discrepancies to be no more than 1 or 2 lbs. We understand weight fluctuates, and are merely asking for honesty and good sportsmanship. For the Team Event - Teams that are over weight will be penalized points which can hurt their group stage counts.
Q: What protective equipment will fighters use?
A: We encourage groin male competitors and mouth protection for all. However, both are optional.
Q: Match outcomes and disputes?
A: Please remember that the spirit of the scrimmage event is to offer experience. The refs will however, put the wellbeing and safety of the competitors first.
For the professional Team event, competitors are understood to have more experience and risk tolerance. Barring any egregious fouling or dangerous conduct, the refs will let matches and submissions play out.
We expect all competitors and their team to conduct themselves in a professional manner and be good sports.
